The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has announced an increase in its Kafalat quarterly installment to benefit around 9.3 million households in Pakistan. Rubina Khalid, the BISP Chairperson, made this announcement during her visit to the Benazir Nashonuma Center at Sindh Government Hospital in Karachi.
Kafalat Installment Increase
The Kafalat assistance amount will be increased by Rs. 3,000, raising the current installment from Rs. 10,500 to Rs. 13,500 per quarter for the enrolled families. This increase aims to provide better financial support to these households, helping them meet their basic needs.
Program Expansion
Currently, 9.3 million families are registered under the BISP, with plans to expand this number to 10 million by the next year. The BISP also enhanced its banking facilities by partnering with six additional banks to facilitate the withdrawal of quarterly installments.
