China to Provide Training for Pakistan Police:China has agreed to provide specialized training for Pakistan’s police forces as part of a broader effort to boost cooperation in counterterrorism, cross-border security, and combating smuggling and drug trafficking. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently met with a Chinese delegation led by Minister Chen Mingguo, where both sides discussed holding joint police and paramilitary exercises in either Gilgit-Baltistan or Xinjiang.
The agreement includes training for Gilgit-Baltistan police officers at the Xinjiang Police Academy, leveraging Xinjiang’s vast experience in counterterrorism. Minister Naqvi emphasized the importance of this partnership, particularly given Pakistan’s shared 600-kilometer border with Xinjiang, which plays a crucial role in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
In addition to training, China will send police consultants to assist Pakistan in strengthening its law enforcement capabilities. This initiative is expected to enhance Pakistan’s security forces, furthering collaboration between the two nations.
