Sindh Implements Mandatory Biometric Verification for Vehicle Transfers: The Sindh govt has implemented mandatory biometric verification for vehicle registration and transfers launched by Sindh Excise Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. This policy, aimed at improving transparency and preventing fraud, will be introduced in three phases.

Beginning July 1st, biometric verification became mandatory for registering new vehicles. From November 1st, it will also apply to those purchasing vehicles. In the final phase, both buyers and sellers must complete biometric verification for any vehicle transfer.

Minister Memon monitoring the system’s role in modernizing the vehicle registration process and eliminating illegal transfers. Residents can visit NADRA e-facilitation centers or district excise offices for the process.

Furthermore, vehicle registrations can now be completed at showrooms to simplify the procedure for citizens. The premium number plates program will also launch its second phase, with proceeds supporting flood relief efforts. This Step is part of broader efforts to improve the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department.
